Mosquito net stuck or off its track: what to check first
Usually it is not the mesh. A pleated or sliding mosquito net sticks because sand has packed into the bottom track, the leaf has jumped out of its guide, or the cords have lost tension. Clean the track first. If it still drags or sits crooked, stop forcing it and send us a video: force bends the profile.

Why a mosquito net starts to stick
The mesh itself rarely causes it. A torn mesh lets insects in, but it still slides. Sticking comes from what the leaf runs in.
- Sand and dust packed in the bottom track
- The leaf jumped out of the top or bottom guide
- Cords that stretched or lost tension
- A profile bent after a knock
- Magnetic catches out of line

Fixing a stuck mosquito net yourself
Brush nozzle along the bottom track and the top guide.
No oil or grease: it holds sand and makes things worse.
Watch where it catches: at the bottom, at the top or at the catch.
A leaf out of its guide needs refitting, not force.
Signs of a faulty mosquito net
| Sign | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Grinds and drags | Sand in the track | Clean it yourself |
| One end runs ahead of the other | Cords lost tension | Adjustment visit |
| Leaf came out of the guide | A knock or a hard pull | Refitting and a profile check |
| Does not stay closed | Magnet out of line | Adjustment visit |
| Moves fine but the mesh is torn | Worn fabric | Re-mesh, from 200 AED |
A new handle is 50 AED. For other repairs we name the price after a photo or video of the fault.
Forcing it costs more
Pulling a stuck leaf harder bends the profile or snaps a cord. Then a simple adjustment turns into a new part.

What our clients say
The existing nets had holes from sun damage. They replaced them with UV-resistant mesh that should last much longer.
We wanted nets that wouldn't block the view too much. They installed very fine black mesh that's almost invisible from inside. Perfect.
The nets in the guest room were torn and looked messy. They replaced them with new fiberglass mesh and the room looks fresh again.

Questions and answers
Can I put oil or spray lubricant on the track?
No. Oil holds sand and turns into a paste that grinds the guides. Keep the track dry and clean.
Is it the mesh that makes it stick?
Rarely. A pleated mesh folds freely. Sticking comes from the track, the guides or the cords.
How do I know a cord needs adjusting?
The leaf moves unevenly, one end runs ahead, or the mesh sags. That needs an adjustment visit.
Do you fix screens from other companies?
Send a photo or video first. If the frame and mechanism are sound we can usually work with them, and we say so before any work starts.
Send a video of the stuck net
Film the net opening and closing and send it on WhatsApp +971 50 339 9025. We tell you whether it is a cleaning job or a repair visit.
