Cat and a high floor: which mosquito nets actually survive
A standard fibreglass mesh is made to stop insects, and claws pull it apart thread by thread. Pet-resistant mesh, sold as Pet Screen, uses a thicker coated yarn that stands up to claws, from 800 AED per m². It saves the screen from a cat. It is not a safety barrier and will not stop a fall.

Why standard mesh gives way
A claw hooks one thin thread and pulls. The thread slips or snaps, the hole grows, and after a few climbs there is a cat-sized opening.

What it will not do
Pet-resistant mesh protects the screen, not the animal. On a balcony or a high window it will not hold a cat that jumps at it, so keep those closed or fit a proper grille.
Where to fit it, and where not
Fit it where the cat actually goes: terrace doors, low windows, the spot by the sofa. The thicker yarn is more visible and lets less air through.
On high view windows the cat never reaches, standard mesh is the better choice.

The mosquito net system matters too
A strong fabric in a light frame can still be pushed out. On a pleated net the magnetic catches hold it closed, but a determined cat can learn to nose it open.
What our clients say

Will my cat still climb it?
It may try. The mesh will hold its claws much better, but it will not stop the habit.
Is it safe for a balcony?
No. It is a screen, not fall protection. On a high balcony keep the door closed or fit a grille.
