Mosquito nets for panoramic windows in Abu Dhabi: what the span decides
On big glazing a rigid framed screen bends, rattles and is awkward to lift out. A pleated mosquito net folds into a narrow cassette at the side and runs on a low flat bottom track, so it suits wide openings. The size of the opening decides the profile, and PVL 39 covers the largest spans.

Why fixed frames fail on big glass
The wider the frame, the more it flexes. It needs crossbars, which cut across the view, and wind pushes the mesh like a sail.

When a motor earns its price
A motor makes sense on very high glazing, on openings behind furniture and where the screen moves many times a day. On a normal door, a hand-pulled pleated net is enough.

Matching the screen to a sliding window
On sliding and lift-and-slide glazing the pleated net sits in front of the leaves. The low flat bottom track keeps the floor easy to step over.
Two things people forget on big glazing
Handles on the glass leaves can hit the screen, so they are checked at the survey. And a long profile is visible, so choose its colour at the order: repainting costs 250 AED per running metre.

How big can one pleated net be?
With PVL 39 up to 3.0 × 4.0 m with overlap or 3.5 × 3.0 m without. Wider openings take two panels.
Do I need a motor?
Only if the screen is hard to reach or moves many times a day. Otherwise a manual pleated net does the same job.
