Two parts, two lifespans. The aluminium frame is the long-term purchase: it does not rot or rust, and we guarantee it for 5 years. The mesh is the consumable. Sun, sand and daily handling wear it out first, and it can be replaced on its own, in the same frame.

Frame and mesh age differently
Aluminium hardly changes in the sun. Fibreglass mesh does: ultraviolet light slowly makes the coating brittle and the colour fades.
So the useful question is not how long a screen lasts, but how long the mesh lasts before you change it.

What decides mosquito net mesh lifespan
The same fabric can look new on one window and tired on another in the same villa. The difference is exposure and use.
- Direct afternoon sun on the mesh
- Sand and dust rubbing it in every shamal
- Hard cleaning: stiff brushes, pressure washers, solvents
- Claws, children and hands pushing on it

Mechanisms have their own lifespan
On a pleated net the moving parts are the tension cords, handle and magnetic catches. They wear with the number of openings, not with the calendar.
We give 2 years on the mechanism and 2 years on installation. A worn handle is a small job, a new one costs 50 AED.

Where the fifty-year screens come from
When someone says their screens last for decades, they usually mean the frames. A good aluminium frame can outlive several fabrics.
Nobody is lying, the frame and the mesh are simply counted as one thing.
How to check your mosquito nets
Holes, thin spots and loose threads show up at once.
If it crackles or feels stiff, the fabric is near its end.
Grey, chalky mesh has lost its coating.
A pleated net should run smoothly and hold at the magnet.
What extends it, and what does not
Gentle cleaning adds time, but no spray or coating stops the sun ageing fibreglass. On the sunniest side of the house the mesh will need changing sooner, and that is normal.
Questions and answers
Is it worth re-meshing an old frame?
Yes, if the frame is straight and the corners are tight. Re-meshing starts from 200 AED, far less than a new screen.
What does the warranty cover?
5 years on the frame, 2 years on the mechanism and 2 years on installation. Full conditions are on the warranty terms page.
