Dust after a shamal: why your mosquito nets do not stop it
A mosquito net is sized to stop insects, not dust. Its holes are many times wider than the fine particles a shamal carries, so the dust passes straight through. An anti-dust fabric catches more, but lets less air in. For most homes the answer is closing the windows during the storm, not new screens.

The hole is bigger than the dust
The cell of our pleated mesh is 0.8 × 0.8 mm. That is small enough for a mosquito and huge for fine dust, which the wind simply blows through.

The trade-off nobody mentions
A denser weave holds back air as well as dust. The room gets less breeze, the view is a little darker, and the mesh clogs sooner and needs cleaning more often.

Which windows are worth doing first
Only the ones you keep open when it is dusty: often a bedroom or the side facing the prevailing wind. Leave view windows and rarely opened ones on standard mesh.
You probably need no new mosquito nets
No mesh makes a window dust proof. If you want less dust on some windows, the frames can usually stay and only the fabric changes.
Before you change anything, clean
Brush nozzle, low power.
Sand in the bottom track makes a pleated net stiff.
A clogged mesh lets through less air than a clean one.

Will anti-dust mesh keep my floors clean?
Cleaner, not clean. It holds back sand and part of the dust, but in a strong shamal closing the window works better.
Can you fit anti-dust fabric in my existing frames?
In most cases the frame can take a new fabric. We confirm it and give the price once we see the screen.
